"At Anchal our work recognizes both the need for innovative solutions to tackle the gender inequality faced by Anchal female artisans and the power of art to reorient and refresh conventional thinking about how to solve these inequalities."

As an organization, we define feminism through a lens of gender equality in our practice to empower women to achieve financial independence through the creation of handmade textiles. The women we work with have endured unimaginable abuse and violence. We simply believe in providing a choice and opportunity to rediscover their self-worth through creating something beautiful. In turn, we witness women challenging the norm by becoming the predominant breadwinner and educating the next generation to fight for their rights.
