Q: Is the risd:store open to the public for in person shopping?

A: YES! The risd:store is open to Everyone!

Q: Why do your hours change frequently?

A: As a college resource, our hours of operation correlate with the academic year and summer offerings. We do our best to keep our hours updated here and on Google. If you have any questions about our hours, please give us a call at 401 454 6465.

Q: Where can I park?

A: We recommend parking further up or off of North Main Street. Please note that the parking on our block requires a permit B Monday through Friday, 7am to 5pm. You can reference Providence's website to learn more about city parking. 

Q: Where is the RISD Museum Store located?

A: We are the RISD Museum Store! In June of 2019 the risd:store absorbed the RISD Museum store including all museum merchandise and the RISD Alumni Collection. You can shop our museum selection on the Canal Street side of the risd:store. You can also shop these items on our website.

Q: Are you hiring?

A: Great question! For non-RISD Student applicants you can find all campus job listings here.

ONLINE ORDERING

Q: I’m a RISD faculty, staff, or student - How do I access my account to receive my discount when ordering through your website?

A:  RISD faculty, staff, and students who have a RISD email have an online account with us that we have pre-built. To start the password reset process, visit risdstore.com and follow these instructions:

  • Click “Login / Register” in the upper right corner of the landing page.
  • At the bottom of the new window, click "Forgot your password?"
  • Once you are on the next screen, enter your RISD email. 
  • Click “Submit”.
  • An email with a reset link will arrive in your inbox. Once you change your password, you are ready to start adding to your cart!

Q: I’m a RISD Continuing Education (CE) student. Do I receive a student discount?

A: Yes! Discount code information should be included in an email that you received. 

Q: My card payment has failed. Why is that?

A: One of the most common reasons that customers are unable to complete payment is because the billing address that they provided during check out does not perfectly match the billing address that the card company has on file. Please note that we do not accept American Express. 

Some customers have had difficulty placing their order using Google Chrome on a mobile device, so we also recommend that you process the order on a laptop or a desktop using a different browser. If you have any questions or concerns please give us a call at (401) 454-6460 or email [email protected].

Q: Can I use the Materials Fund or the Ackerman Scholarship Awards Funds (a.k.a SA account) to make purchases on the risd:store website?

A: Yes, you can use those funds on academic supplies and books. However, those funds cannot be used for gifts, apparel, Alumni Collection items or excluded items. Please follow these steps at checkout:

  • Provide your billing address select “Next step”
  • Choose your shipping method and select “Next step”
  • Choose “Pay securely with a risd:store SA account” and select “Next step”
  • Select “Buy”

Q: How do I pay for purchases on the store’s website using a risd:store Gift Card?

A: Please follow these steps at checkout:

  • Provide your billing address select “Next step”
  • Choose your shipping method and select “Next step”
  • Choose “Pay securely with risdbucks & Gift Card” and select “Next step”
  • Enter the Gift Card number in the comment box on the confirmation page.
  • Select “Buy”            

Q: I want to place an order for curbside/in-store pick up, but I don’t see the option. Where do I find it?

A: Our online checkout process has 4 steps: billing address, shipping method, payment method, and confirmation. On step 1, the billing address page, use the billing address associated with the card that you are using to make payment. Under those information fields, click the "ship to this address" option. Click the “Next” button to proceed to step 2, which is the shipping method. Selecting “ship to this address” on step 1 will trigger our system to offer the curbside and/or in-store pickup option on step 2. Select your preference, and then proceed to steps 3 and 4!

Q: How do I track my order?

A: Check on the status of your order by logging into your account and clicking the “My Orders” tab. When your order is shipped from our store you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information based on the shipping method that you chose at checkout.

Q: I ordered apparel and it’s not the right size for me. Can I exchange it?

A: You may exchange any apparel that is unworn, damage free and still has the original tags attached. 

Q: My online order arrived, but it’s damaged. What can I do now?

A: We do our best to ensure all orders are shipped out in perfect condition. That being said, the shipping process isn't alway gentle. Please document any orders that have arrived damaged with an image of the product and the packaging. Send those images to [email protected]. From there we will submit a claim to our shipping carrier and send you a replacement. We will be sure to include updated tracking information.

Q: I think I’m missing an item from my order. What can I do about it?

A: Sorry about that! Send us an email at [email protected]. Include your name, order number and the item that is missing.

Q: Do you accept returns?

A: Yes, we accept returns on specific items. To find out if we will take a return on the specific product(s) you are inquiring about, you can reference our return policy. Please note that we have a two week return policy for in-store purchases and a 30 day return policy for online orders. All eligible items must be unopened, undamaged, and/or unworn.                 

Q: Can I purchase supplies not currently on the risd:store website, including items from the risd:store 3D (a.k.a. 3D store)?

A: Yes, please email your request to [email protected]. Someone will follow up shortly after.

Q: Do you offer bulk order discounts?

A: We offer bulk order discounts, but each item has its own discount rules. To learn about discount options for the item you are interested in bulk ordering, please email us at [email protected] and we will forward your inquiry to one of our Buyers.
