Born in Calcutta, Priyadarshini Himatsingka grew up in an artistic family drawn to minimalist artwork and modern textiles. She came to the US to do her foundation work at Parsons, and then earned degrees in Photography and Philosophy from New York University before continuing on to RISD for formal training in jewelry design. Himatsingka’s work ranges from casual to elegant and formal, and is featured in galleries throughout the northeast. In 2002 she established a design studio in Providence, where she now lives.
